EZproxy Update

Details about changes made to the EZProxy authentication and how it may affect Library users.

Library Services is pleased to announce that our EZproxy service has been updated.

What is EZproxy?

EZProxy is an authentication tool that securely connects you to Children's Mercy Library Services' e-resources  (i.e., digital articles, ejournals and databases) from anywhere, anytime - even when you are working remotely. Remote access to e-resources is available to authorized Children's Mercy Kansas City personnel.

The EZProxy service does not require you to install any additional software to access e-resources while working remotely. Instead, you will connect to resources through the Library Services' website or other access points, like the Scope, via specially configured URLs.

What is changing?

As part of this update, the current EZproxy prefix for CM Library Services' e-resources URLs are changing from: http://ezproxy.cmh.edu/login?url=

to our new EZproxy prefix:

You also won't be seeing this screen again as the update makes accessing library materials easier and faster.

What do I need to do?

Library Services has updated the links on our website and on the Scope to include the new URL prefix.

If you have any bookmarks or permalink URLs you need to update them to include the new EZproxy prefix:  https://login.childrensmercy.idm.oclc.org/login?url=

What should I do if I get an error message?

If you get an error message that looks like the one below, email LIbrary Services - library@cmh.edu to let us know, and we'll work to get it fixed.
