Specific library privileges and services are extended to user groups as outlined below:
CMH Personnel (Medical Staff, Residents, Fellows, Employees):
- Check-Out of Books and Journals
- Literature Searching by Medical Librarians.
- Reference Question Assistance
- Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery
- Instruction in literature searching and use of information resources online and in print; instruction in some information management tools
- Assistance with Bibliography Preparation and Citation Tracking Reports
- Library Research Consultations; Participation in Clinical Rounds, EBP Teams, Hospital Committees and Work Groups by Medical Librarians when Invited/Assigned
- School/academic assignments unrelated to CMH work will be referred to the school library.
Rotating Residents, Fellows, and Students
- Reference Assistance by Library Staff
- Self-Service Use of photocopier to copy library materials
- Assistance in locating books or journals not in the CMH library collection
- Instruction in library skills, including literature searching
- Check-Out of books or journals via Interlibrary Loan to students' Parent Institution; No direct loans of Library Services materials
Nursing Students Rotating through CMH:
- Reference Assistance by library staff
- Self-service use of photocopy machine to copy library materials
- Basic instruction in library skills and health information literacy
- Check-out of books or journals via interlibrary loan to students' parent institution; No direct loans of Library Services materials
- Assistance in locating books or journals not in the CMH Library collection
Parents & Family Members
- Library research assistance by library staff by appointment or referral from Kreamer Family Resource Center
- Basic instruction in library skills and health information literacy
